RiverRat Outfitters 2nd Season Shotgun Hunts – Zone 9
Iowa’s 2nd Shotgun season always begins the first weekend after the 1st season closes and runs for nine days and I am not splitting it up into more than one hunt. There is a small gap between 1st and 2nd shotgun season and that is a perfect time to arrive and let me show you around and get ready for your hunt.
At RiverRat Outfitters our rule is simple…hunt as long as your tag is valid.
Please read the 1st Season Shotgun Hunts memo because its pretty much the same deal only the season is longer. Even thought you get to hunt 4 extra days I 
don’t care, the price is the same. And there are not any special deals with this hunt either, if you hunt hard all nine days and don’t get a buck, well it just wasn’t in the cards for you.
The second season is a local favorite because there are two weekends involved instead of just one. But during the weekdays a lot of guys have to work and many of the locals are just meat hunters looking to fill the freezer, that’s good news for you.
We will be hunting the islands looking for the monsters who are now hiding on them. Some years the weather ain’t too bad in mid December but you better have damn good boots and gloves. We do have Rhinotm heated blinds if things get out of hand.
If you want to bring along a young boy or girl under the age of 18, he or she can hunt for free unless they get a buck. If they shoot one of my trophy whitetails somehow its full price and I won’t take a check. But if they shoot a doe while daddy is passing on the American heritage of hunting it’s on me.
